Winter has arrived!

Winter has arrived! Temperatures last night fell to 7 degrees centigrade, the coldest temperature we have ever recorded here at the lodge! Consequently the bird feeders are extremely busy. Sightings at the feeders today have included 2 Slaty-breasted Wood-Rails, 20+ Maroon-bellied Parakeets, 15+ Plain Parakeets, 5+ Spot-billed Toucanets, 2 Blond-crested Woodpeckers, Great Kiskadee, Boat-billed Flycatcher, Yellow-legged Thrush, Rufous-bellied Thrush, Pale-breasted Thrush, Bananaquit, 15+ Olive-green Tanagers, Ruby-crowned Tanager, Brazilian Tanager, Sayaca Tanager, 4 Azure-shouldered Tanagers, Golden-chevroned Tanager, Palm Tanager, Violaceous Euphonia, Orange-bellied Euphonia, Chestnut-bellied Euphonia, 10+ Blue-naped Chlorophonias, 20+ Green-headed Tanagers, 2 Burnished-buff Tanagers, Blue Dacnis and 3 Green Honeycreepers!
